    Damn...
So it seems my idle is starting to get a bit rough. For the first 20-25 minutes of driving the car, the idle bounces around from 900-1800. After maybe 30min, it starts to hang out around 800-1000. I dont get it...it wasnt doing this at all before and nothing is really different. The idle was perfect!

It seems to be getting worse as well. Yesterday it would jump from 900-1300, and last night it got up to 1500...now 1800. Is something coming loose?

    TIA!!!

Sounds like a vacuum leak? Check all your vacuum hoses.

definately a vacuum leak... did you read the post i made last week? people tossed out a bunch of possible options.

search for idle hunting, or idle surging

turned out mine was a loose clamp on the charger bypass hose

Newgsrdriver and lilmikey, What did you guys use as a sealant for the blower gasket? Both of your kits were used, right? What should be used?

The best way to find a vacuum leak is to spray carb cleaner on all the areas where you suspect one may be. On the manifold gasket, the blower gasket, the throttle body gasket, your vacuum lines, the injector mounts, the access holes underneath the fuel rail....

When you hit the leak, the motor will suck in the carb cleaner and rev up.

Ok...I just inspected for leaks and couldnt find anything. I called Moss and they told me that what Im looking at is most likely a vacuum leak, and that all the problems Ive been seeing (stopping acceleration @ 6800RPM in 4th, bouncy idle, crackle) are probably all related to this one problem.

He told me to take a lighter and hold the butane down and inspect for leaks. I did that for a while and found nothing. Im going to try the spray as well. It looks as if everything is on properly, and everything is tightened down, so I dont get it. Im thinking maybe the two allen bolts on the manifold under the fuel rail are getting looser and looser, which is why the idle problems seems to get worse and worse the more I drive?

Also, if I just start the car and let it sit without hitting the gas, it idles normally at 1000 after a bit. But as soon as I hit the gas, the roller coaster begins!

Yep, I used the sealant in the kit. I actually forget if I gooped the IM gasket, but hopefully I did. Most likely smile

Argh...what a pain! My FP guage should be here tomorrow, so then Ill see how bad Im off. I still need to find this leak...Im hoping its the allen screws, but one of them is a good 6 or 7 threads in and the other is maybe 4. Thats as tight as they would go if I recall...
